 Michele has been an Adult Probation Officer in a standard field unit for approximately 3 1/2 years. She holds two bachelor's degrees from Arizona State University, one in Justice Studies and one in Psychology. During her time as an officer she quickly learned of her desire to help officers in times of need, whether it be in field safety training or answering questions regarding union matters. As an organizer for AZPOA, she is fortunate to interact with staff from all over the county and informing them of recent union activities and progress. She recently obtained her certification as a firearms instructor for Maricopa County Adult Probation Department and spends several hours a month training officers to effectively handle a firearm and respond appropriately to threatening situations. She also participates in and helped to co-find the Officer Safety and Awareness Committee at the Black Canyon Building. She looks forward to seeing you all soon, until then, be safe! |
