Probation Officer Involved Shooting

Lawmakers, not public servants, have broken retirement system

Arizona's Public Safety Personnel Retirement System for police officers and firefighters is broken. The people it was designed to serve and who've paid into it religiously at the contribution rate established by the legislature for the last 40 years didn't break it.

Speaker Adam's Pension Reform Bulletin

Fellow Officers, for the last several months AZCOPS has been involved in various pension meetings to resolve  the status of an obviously unsustainable system. All affected public safety groups are united in avoiding diminished benefits to active and retired members alike.  To that end, involved stakeholders have met on a weekly basis to discuss available options.

Public Safety Officer Employee-Employer Cooperation Act

CWA President Larry Cohen encourages all CWA members to contact their Senators to ask them to vote for S.1611, the Public Safety Officer Employee-Employer Cooperation Act. "We owe that to our first responders and we owe that to the 20,000 CWA public safety officers."
